The contribution of Temporary Protection toward Health & Safety on Site
The progression of Health & Safety practices in recent years has seen a reduction in accidents and mortalities on construction sites. Through increased awareness and improved working practices the standard of health and safety has improved across most aspects of construction work in areas such as personnel, PPE, tools and equipment.
At Protec we feel that the increased use of temporary protection materials has also contributed to safer and healthier working environments through protection products that raise awareness, protect hazards and act as alternatives to some traditional protection that may inadvertently prove dangerous.

Protecting Against Snow on Sites
Previous Protec blogs have already covered winter weather and snow but only in general detail, in light of increasing snow risk and plunging temperatures it may be of value to consider some specific protection solutions against snow.
“Know you enemy” is perhaps a little strong when assessing the impact of snow on your construction site but is none the less a valid point. Snow, unlike rain, sleet or hail is an insidious type of weather that can sneak in over night and completely disrupt works on site through its depth and frequency, extra work is required to dig the site clear and man hours are consequently lost. Snow, aided by the wind, is also a nuisance in the way that it can be blown in through openings, melts through the subsequent thaw and then you potentially have the risk of water damage to finished floors.

Protec Supplies Proplex FR Rolls to Jamaica
Protec are proud to announce that they have supplied a quantity of Flame Retardant Proplex Rolls to Kier Construction which are destined to be used on a construction site in Jamaica.
The temporary protection is mainly being used as floor protection on the Kier project in Kingston where they are building a new head quarters for the mobile phone giant Digicel.
