Last year our friends at BAM Construct UK let us know they were going to be taking part in a sponsored cycle ride from Vietnam to Cambodia in November 2011 to help support Acorns Children’s Hospice. We were more than happy to sponsor them as it is such a good cause giving support and care to over 600 local life limited children and their families!

BAM Construct UK, with help from their sponsors including Protec International Ltd, managed to raise just over £115,000 which is an extraordinary feat.

Such fantastic fundraising efforts are essential as being the sibling of a life limited child can be very difficult and isolating; at Acorns they give them a dedicated support worker and opportunity to be involved in workshops, outings and projects allowing views and feelings to be shared while having fun! The money will go to help cover many services such as the yearly cost for catering, as well as covering costs for all the siblings support activities across three local hospices.
